Natural Remedies for Acidity


1. Gently sucking a piece of jaggery until acidity subsides is a perfect home remedy for acidity.

2. A glass of cold milk gives instant relief from this problem.

3. Chewing of few basil leaves keeps acidity, gas and nausea at bay.

4. Eating plenty of cucumber, water melon and banana keeps away acidity.

5. Drinking coconut water relieves acidity.

6. Every meal should be followed by a drink of fresh mint juice. This is the best acidity remedy.

7. Consumption of yoghurt gives instant relief from this problem.

8. Soda water effectively treats acidity problems.

9. Chewing ginger helps to subside acidity. Add one tea spoon lemon juice, two spoons of honey, small ginger pieces to the glass of warm water, and mix them. Drink this juice when feeling acidity. It will give good results immediately.

10. One may take a mixture of 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoon natural apple cider vinegar before meals to avoid this problem.

11. Sucking clove relieves acidity.

12. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water until it dissolves completely and drink it to neutralize stomach acid. Add honey or lemon for taste if you want.

13. Intake of tea and coffee should be replaced by the intake of herbal tea consisting of spearmint or licorice.

16. Drinking half a glass of butter milk with one tablespoon coriander leaf juice mixed in to it is an effective home remedy for acidity.

17. A daily drink of cabbage juice checks acidity.

18. Maintaining a standing posture after meals, checks acidity.

19. Drinking one or two glasses of water in empty stomach early in the morning keeps acidity away.

Dietary Guidelines to Decrease Stomach Acid

1. Drink a full glass of water as soon as you get up in the morning to neutralize stomach acid. Drink 8 glasses of water daily.

2.Eat 5 to 6 small meals each day to give the acid in your stomach a steady supply of food to digest without causing it to increase the acid production. Decreasing the amount of food you eat in a sitting decreases the amount of acid your stomach produces.

3. Eating non-citrus fruits may help neutralize stomach acids. Try apples, bananas, cucumbers and watermelon.

4.Eat yogurt for immediate relief. Eat it regularly to help keep your stomach from becoming too acidic in the future.

5. Choose healthy, natural foods that do not encourage stomach acid production. These foods have the added benefit of helping you maintain a healthy weight. Eat more:Fresh vegetables
Dried beans
Whole grains
Lean poultry
Fish

6. Avoid the following foods and beverages, which increase stomach acidity:Alcohol
Caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea and cola
Chocolate
Refined sugar and carbohydrates

Fried and fatty foods
